Hello, My Name is Lanette Lopez, and this is My Story...
My Husband Eric and I met in 1999 in Tacoma Washington. I was a Chief Steward (Cook/Baker) in the Merchant Marines, Sailing in & out of the Port of Tacoma. Eric was a Tenant in the same Apartment Building as I, on Union Avenue. When I met Eric, there was an Immediate Attraction.

After living in Washington for a number of years, I became homesick and asked Eric to consider moving to My Home Town of Kahaluu. Eric acquired a Transfer Card from the Painters Union in Vancouver Washington, and we were on a Hawaiian Airlines flight bound for Hawaii. In 2005, I completed my Final Rotation onboard the SS Coast Range with Crowley Maritime, and Retired my Union Book after 21 years of service with the Seafarer's International Union.

On April 24th Eric and I were Married. At the time, we could not afford a Nice Wedding and Reception. So, we decided to postpone Our Wedding Reception for a later date.
In 2008, 2 Things Happened...
On April 26th, Eric and I Renewed Our Vows, and had 300 of Our Family and Friends Celebrate Our Special Day. This Is A Day We Will Never Forget.
On June 17th, Eric was Diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma Stage 4 Lymphnoid (Head & Neck). That Was Also A Day We Will Never Forget.
Since we received news of Eric's Cancer, we have spent most of our time at Straub & Queens Hospital in Hawaii, getting Aggressive Treatment for Eric. He has undergone Surgery to remove Tumors in his Neck, and has received Chemotherapy and Radiation which he receives still today.
We join the Many in Hope and Prayer for a Cure for Cancer, so that Our Loved Ones no longer have to Suffer with this Disease. Someday, when a Cure is found, it will become a Disease, that with Treatment, We Can All FORGET.
